Dear Family and Friends,
We are pleased to inform everyone that the resident who was tested positive for COVID-19 on Dec 28th is slowly recovering from the infection. With the help of Public Health, IPAC-LTC, Evergreen staff and residents, we were able prevent further spread of the virus. All possible safety precautions are in place such as staff and resident cohort, daily COVID-19 screening, along with strict adherence to hand hygiene and proper donning and doffing of PPE. The two positive staff cases are not related to resident’s infection and are not connected to one another. Affected staff have fully recovered and are back to work.
Residents on non-affected units continue to receive social stimulation thru small scale dining experience with co-residents in their designated unit dining rooms, music therapy (1:1 or an avenue per day), and rehab programs. Meals are continually served in their room for all residents on the affected unit. One-on-one recreation activities and rehab programs are conducted as scheduled.
Evergreen is unable to accept visitors at this time. We are sincerely asking for everyone’s patience and understanding as we balance safety and well-being of our beloved residents and staff.
In the meantime, families are welcome to book video chat by calling 902-678-7355 ext 555 for both Senior Center and Children Center. Leave a message and a designated staff will call back to confirm your schedule.
We will continue to monitor cases closely and regularly re-assess the need for further changes.
Please reach out to Amanda Kelly (SDON) at ext 240, Andrea Cottrell (CDON) at ext 229 or Nanette Velasco (ADON) at ext. 304 for further guidance.
Thank you, The Evergreen Community |
